Dan Davis Computer Services

Four things everyone should know about their computer...

Everyone needs antivirus protection.... even you. AVG gives away their basic product FREE! and it is easy to use and it really WORKS!

Everyone is affected by Malware and Malware Bytes also gives away a free copy of their program. Again, it really works!

Everyone needs disk cleanup, and registry cleanup, and Piriform gives away their "CCleaner" product free. It is the best, simplest, cleanest program of it's kind that I have ever encountered.

Disk drives get fragmented, defragger sucks, but wait! Piriform gives away their "DeFRaggler" product free TOO! No foolin'. And it is so much better than the default Windows program.

What can we do for you?

Web Programming Services

A presence on the World Wide Web is almost essential these days and your website is often the very first impression a potential customer receives.

Very few industries are not well represented on the Internet. Your website should present you and your company in the best way possible; A well designed website can bring you new business as surely as a bad design can cost you business.

There are many different website design styles available and many ways to get information into the hands of your customer. Your website should work well for your industry; a professional service may not want a lot of flashy graphics, where a music store might need exactly that. In all cases your website should always be easy to read, easy to navigate and should present your information to the customer as succinctly as possible.

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization really breaks down into two categories: Stuff you pay the Search Engine Companies for and stuff you can do for yourself. In both cases, the purpose is to get your web site found by the search engines.

"Relevance" is a fancy Search Engine term for "how close does this come to answering the question?"; It is usually based on placement of search terms (called keywords) and the number of times those terms appear on your web site. We use this by getting a list of the most common search terms for your industry and editing the content on your web site so that it uses those terms as much as possible within the context.

Search Engine data collection programs (called spiders or robots) primarily read text in the form of HTML pages. If your web site has a lot of dynamic content that is created when the page is loaded (shopping carts usually do this) we can create static web pages that have the same information and are easier for the "spiders" to "crawl".

Search Engines give precedence to pages that can be navigated without graphics, Javascript, or forms. We can create code blocks that replace Javascript in the event that it does not function, create text links in addition to image links, and provide non-graphical pages for text browsers; all of these things are considered "user friendly" and can get you a higher rating with the Search Engines.

All of these options and many more are available as ways to accomplish the primary goal: GET FOUND! It is much easier to make sales when potential customers know you exist.
